Tesla Venture Studio is proud to play a leading role in the creation of the Sierra Leone National Innovation Fund (SLNIF) alongside our partners at Aton Path Inc., a bold national initiative to design and launch West Africa’s most ambitious innovation ecosystem. Anchored within the Fɛlei TechCity development, the fund will serve as the engine for entrepreneurial growth, digital transformation, and inclusive economic development.

This milestone initiative is being co-developed by the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) in collaboration with global partners: Tesla Venture Studio, X|ergy SusTech Powerhouse, Aton Path, and BioLegal.

Together, this coalition is working closely with government ministries to align strategy, structure and implementation ahead of the Fund’s official launch.

Leading innovation, driving impact

As a global venture ecosystem builder, Tesla Venture Studio brings deep expertise in venture architecture, funding frameworks, and innovation strategy. Our role in SLNIF is to:

• Co-lead the innovation ecosystem design and operational blueprint
• Create the platform for startup acceleration, incubation and open innovation
• Guide early-stage venture development with embedded mentorship and scaling infrastructure
• Integrate global capital pathways and access to markets globally

We are proud to serve as a foundational force in building this innovation fund – one that is structured to support over 200+ startups reinvest in Sierra Leone’s local economy, and unlock a projected economic impact of more then €2,4 billion.

National vision meets global execution

SLNIF is a flagship pillar of Fɛlei TechCity, a transformative project championed by His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio, to establish Sierra Leone as a regional leader in entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology.

SLNIF’s physical hub, the Felei Innovation Tower and Education Park, will house training centres, shared workspaces, and commercialisation zones. It will be purpose-built to support both local entrepreneurs and international collaboration.

The Government of Sierra Leone has brought together a world-class coalition to co-design and co-develop the Innovation Fund:

• Tesla Venture Studio – Lead ecosystem architect and innovation strategy partner
• X|ergy SusTech Powerhouse – Delivering SusTech Glocalization methodology for context-sensitive and scalable innovation ecosystem growth 
• Aton Path – Invited by GoSL as the strategic lead on innovation architecture, capacity building, and human impact measurement.
• BioLegal – Providing fund governance, compliance design, and legal structuring

Together, we are aligning national development priorities with global innovation standards — building a fund designed not just for Sierra Leone, but as a blueprint for scalable innovation ecosystems across the Global South.
